Ranveer and Arjun will play coal thieves. The film is set in the 1970s and 1980s and is about Bikram and Bela who rose from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to becoming the biggest and most powerful black marketing mafia-men.

You can learn just by looking at Shah Rukh: Varun Dhawan

Actor Varun Dhawan, who was an assistant director to Karan Johar while My Name Is Khan was under production, says he learned a lot from superstar Shah Rukh Khan during that time.
"During that film, his script used to be scribbled with notes. I used to take the scripts to him and asked him what it is? It was all his references, his homework. So we could just learn by looking at him," the 24-year-old said here Wednesday during a promotional event for Student of The Year.
"He is an institution of acting, the way he functions, the way he goes about his work, you could just learn by looking at him," he added.
Shah Rukh is the co-producer of the forthcoming film Student of The Year, which marks the debut of David Dhawan's son Varun, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt and model Siddharth Malhotra.
Siddharth, who was a clap boy on My Name Is Khan, also recalled how Shah Rukh used to dole out tips to the two.
"During the shooting of My Name Is Khan, he (Shah Rukh) came to know that we both wanted to act. I used to give the clap and and then sit down. He used to prepare his lines and then suddenly he used to start talking 'You should come early, see the props, touch things and feel them, look at your surroundings'," Siddharth said.
"Initially I did not understand who he was talking to and then I used to look up and realised that Sir (Shah Rukh) is telling me. Then a lot of times after the shooting he used to tell me and Varun how the scene came out or how to use actions and props," he added.
Student of The Year hits theatres Oct 19.

The couple was dating when Raaz was made, but they split later. However, they chose to remain friends. Recently, the two even went to see Raaz 3 together, after Bipasha Basu requested her former flame to come along with her. Bipasha Basu even tweeted a picture of the two of them together.

A source says, "Dino and Bipasha might be paired in Raaz 4. The Bhatts are already considering this as an option." Would Dino be willing to get close, albeit on screen, with his former sweetheart once again? He says, "Yes, why not! I would love to work with Bipasha again. Will not direct after 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan', says Yash Chopra

Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, who turned 80 Thursday, announced in a chat with actor Shah Rukh Khan that he will not be directing any more films after "Jab Tak Hain Jaan".
"Bahut ho gaya abhi. My heart says bahut ho gaya abhi. I will not direct any other film after 'Jab Tak Hain Jaan'. I have got lot of love in all these years. I think now the time has come to pay back. I want to help directors, actors, technicians who I could not help all these years," said Chopra.
"This industry has given me so much. I am very much happy and satisfied with the film. This film has turned out better than my expectation. I don't want to do anything else. My wife has been complaining a lot. I want to make her happy and enjoy my life," he said.
Shah Rukh, who has been an integral part of Yash Raj Films for the past 20 years and stars in "Jab Tak Hain Jaan" with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, said he was saddened by Chopra's decision.
"I feel sad but great people decide when they want to finish... For years I have worked with Yashji. This is a moment of happy sadness. We are happy that we are part of that film which made you happy. "
Terming it a "moment of history" for himself, Shah Rukh said he felt very touched and "can't question it anymore".
Chopra started his career as a director in 1959 with "Dhool Ka Phool" and in 60 years in the industry, has given many hits including 'Waqt", "Silsila", "Chandni", "Dil Toh Pagal Hai", and "Veer Zara", among others.
About his decision to make "Jab Tak Hain Jaan", Chopra says this film was a gift for him from his eldest son Aditya Chopra, adding that his son had promised to serve as his assistant and fulfil all requirements.
"He has been a wonderful assistant. When I decided to make this film I thought my soul should be in this film," Chopra said.
The music of the film is given by A.R. Rahman and lyrics are by Gulzar. Yash Chopra was all praise for them.
"They are geniuses and magicians according to me. There is a certain pattern of how music is made and they changed this pattern. Gulzar's poetry gave words to my vision," he said.
"Jab Tak Hain Jaan" is slated for Nov 13 release.

Ranbir beats cousin Kareena in box office race

Ranbir Kapoor's deaf and mute character in "Barfi!" seems to be giving cousin Kareena Kapoor's glamorous avatar in "Heroine" a run for her money!
The sweet and simple love story of a mute and deaf boy in "Barfi!" seems to have touched the heartstrings of viewers who are still flocking theatres to savour the unconventional romantic flavour. On the other hand, "Heroine", with an an overdose of glitz, doesn't seem to have the same effect on the moviegoers.
It is obvious from the fact that the Rs.30 crore-"Barfi!", released Sep 14, has raked in Rs.82.05 crore net at the domestic box-office, while "Heroine", which released a week later, has garnered just Rs.32 crore. Made at a budget of Rs.20 crore, it has recovered the cost, but is not as big a success as "Barfi!".
Both the films have been produced and distributed by Disney UTV.
"'Barfi' is performing exceedingly well across all international markets. The movie is resonating with audience and such sustenance across second weekend and weekdays is rare to see in recent times! Exhibitors all across have retained a good number of shows despite new releases," Amrita Pandey, executive director - syndication, international distribution, Studios, Disney UTV, said in a statement.
"Barfi!" is India's official entry to the prestigious Academy Awards in Best Foreign Language Film.
Gaurav Verma, director, India Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney UTV, says that it is like "icing on the cake".
"The second weekend saw more and more people coming in for the film and seeing the response we are in talks with exhibitors to add more screens for 'Barfi!'" he added.
As far as the international markets are concerned "Barfi!" seems to be ruling the roost there too. It has earned $4.82 million, while "Heroine" collection is $1.75 million as of Tuesday.
But Pandey claims that none of the female-centric films in recent years have received a response as good as "Heroine".
She said "Heroine" had a "phenomenal opening in all major international markets"!
"This was a highly anticipated movie and our marketing push has helped pull in massive crowds to theatres," she added.
