Celebrities have always caught the headlines when it comes to issues with the law. Not long ago, Shah Rukh Khan drew the ire of the law for smoking in public in Rajasthan during the last IPL. The actor was asked to pay fine for his act recently. The judgment of the fine was pronounced by the Jaipur city court on a petition filed against the actor saying that the actor was "guilty" for smoking in public. The court asked the actor to pay Rs. 100 as fine.
However, soon after the court's judgment, Shah Rukh's counsel claimed that his client was ready to pay the fine and pleaded guilty putting an end to all legal trouble.
As for the complaint lodged, Anand Singh, who runs the Jaipur Cricket Academy, had filed the petition in the court complaining about SRK's act of smoking in public during an IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8. The case was filed under section 5 read with 11 of Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking Act, 2000, which prohibits smoking at a public places.
