NEWS: New, energetic Shahid in Prabhudheva's next

Shahid Kapoor will be seen in Prabhudheva's new film tentatively titled "Rambo Rajkumar" and the choreographer-turned-director promises that the audience will get to see new aspects of the young actor in the movie.
"We are starting (shooting) in February. It is going to be a full-fledged action film. You all will see a new Shahid Kapoor full of energy in the film. The new energetic look of Shahid is going to surprise everyone," Prabhudheva said.
"There will be lot of dance, action and masti. It is going to be full of fun," he added.
Prabhudheva's previous films "Wanted" and "Rowdy Rathore" were remakes of Southern films. However, he assures that "Rambo Rajkumar" is an original story. The film has Sonakshi Sinha in the female lead.
"It is an unusual film and it is not a remake. It was a conscious effort to get an unusual pairing like Shahid and Sonakshi for this film. You all will get to know once the film hits the screens," he added

NEWS: Shahid's trainer vouches for his dedication

If you admire Shahid Kapoor's toned body, then you must know that it is a result of a lot of hard work and dedication, says his trainer.
"He trains five times a week for an hour. There are three strength training sessions, followed by two days of functional or metabolic conditioning. He also goes for a 7-10 km walk or jog every week," trainer Abbas Ali said in a statement.
"Shahid can't do without a dose of his daily workouts. Even when he is busy shooting or travelling, the young star makes sure to make room for his workouts," he added.
When Shahid flaunted his sculpted body in "Kaminey", his female fans swooned over him.
The "Jab We Met" star will soon be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's "Phata Poster Nikla Hero" along with Ileana D'Cruz.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha says viewers should look forward to a lot of dance in Namak, given Prabhudheva and Shahid Kapoor's association with it.
"We are starting Namak in February. (I'm) looking forward to it and of course since we have Prabhudheva and Shahid in the film, there is going to be a lot of dance in the film," said Sonakshi.

"I am completely happy because I love dancing and it will be completely a masala film. I don't think you can expect anything less from Prabhudheva," she added.

Sonakshi has had a brush with Prabhudheva's style of working in Rowdy Rathore, which did well at the box office. Sonakshi also did an item number with the actor-choreographer-filmmaker in OMG: Oh My God!.

Ask if she is learning any new dance form for Namak, she said: "Not new kind of dance, but once we start shooting I am sure Prabhu will make up something new and make us do that."

NEWS: Shahid Kapoor begins shooting again

Shahid Kapoor has started shooting for his next film after more than six months. He's shooting for Phata Poster Nikla Hero, a rom-com action entertainer, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi and produced by Ramesh Taurani. Shahid will be seen romancing Illeana D'Cruz in the film.

Says a source from the unit of PPNH, "Shahid is shooting on a huge set constructed at Filmistan Studios in Mumbai. He is wearing a cop's uniform in some scenes. Apparently Shahid will be going topless in some scenes so he's working on a lean and tough look for his body with his trainer his trainer Abbas Ali. Though it's a romantic comedy, Shahid will be also seen doing lots of action and enacting various different roles in the film. Illeana is not a part of the first day's shoot."

Initially Shahid was to do Maneesh Sharma's next for Yash Raj Films but after he opted out of it he had the time to shoot for Phata Poster Nikla Hero. After completing PPNH, Shahid will shoot for Prabhudeva and Bejoy Nambiar's next films - both in different commercial genres.

Shahid Kapoor opts out of Maneesh Sharma's upcoming film with YRF

The start of Maneesh Sharma’s next directorial untitled film has been postponed. The film was originally scheduled to go on floor this September.

Both Maneesh and Jaideep Sahni, who has written the story and screenplay, along with Aditya Chopra, have taken a creative decision to include lip-sync songs, which were earlier not part of the film.

The unfortunate fallout of this is that Shahid Kapoor, who was to play the lead, has had to pull out because of his other commitments. With three other projects back to back, Shahid is not able to readjust his dates to accommodate the revised schedule.

Maneesh, speaking on behalf of both Jaideep and himself, said: “Both Jaideep and I have decided to bring in a couple of lip-sync songs which will need to be recorded before we can go on floor. However, it is sad that Shahid has understandably had to opt out because of this delay given his packed schedule going forward.”

While this development is a pity, YRF looks forward to working with Shahid Kapoor on another project being discussed with him for next year.

Please await further details on the shooting schedule for Maneesh Sharma’s film.

"There are three films which I have signed. One is with Maneesh Sharma which I start in August and finish by November. There's a film with Prabhu Deva, which will start at some point next year around February because he is doing another film right now.
"And there is a film with Bejoy Nambiar which will also start next year," he said.
After completing the shooting for "Teri Meri Kahaani", Shahid had confessed he was unemployed. But he now says he is keen to do more work.

Teri Meri Kahaani Movie Review

Director: Kunal Kohli
Producer: Kunal Kohli, Vicky Bahri & Sunil Lulla
Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Prachi Desai (sp.app) & Neha Sharma (sp.app).
Music: Sajid-Wajid
Rating: 3/5

Kunal Kohli is a director who’s never really done anything path breaking. ‘Hum Tum’ (2004) sailed through because of Saif and Rani’s chemistry, ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ (2002) was a disaster, ‘Fanaa’ (2006) relied heavily on Aamir-Kajol, and ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ (2008) was a poor saccharine sweet rendition of ‘Mary Poppins’.
With regards to ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ the overall impression was that he was banking on star power again by casting rumoured ex flames Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra after Vishal Bhardwaj’s critically acclaimed ‘Kaminey’. But the leads chemistry aside, for a change, he brings something fresh to the table – a somewhat experimental film which is predictable but has an inherent charm and freshness and doesn’t drag on incessantly with over the top melodrama and unnecessary theatrics.
The film’s premise is relatively simple, Kapoor plays Javed, Govind and Krish, and Chopra plays Rukhsar, Aradhna and Radha – all characters in a love story that spans three eras (1910, 1960 and present day). The film oscillates between the eras, and highlights the trials and tribulations that couples have to endure in any relationship and how relationships themselves have evolved – from being demure, chaste, rooted in values and tradition (1910, 1960) to becoming more like ‘fast food’, so to speak (feel a vibe, click with someone, add them to a social network, Skype, dump and move on to the next – present day).
The Javed-Aradhana track is the strongest of the film – it has an innocent charm to it and Kapoor’s poetic recitals and cheeky wit are unmissable. The weakest, unfortunately, is the Krish-Radha track – its culmination is bland and lacklustre, and some of the couples interactions in that era are cheesy, lifeless and dull.
To be honest, the individual plots themselves throw no surprises. At the back of your mind you know, that each of the couples will inevitably overcome any obstacles and go on to live happily ever after. It’s the plots’ treatment, the films witty, crackerjack script, the sparkling performances from the lead pair and their easy chemistry that make the film watchable in its entirety. And, as already mentioned, at a running time of just over two hours, it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
The frames of the film have been lit luminously, with crisp camerawork, and good attention to detail, and even though some of the backgrounds in the 60s era seem jerky and repetitive, overall the look of the film is consistent.
Usually, a film’s soundtrack tends to grow on you after you’ve watched the film and that’s the case here too. Special mention has to be made of ‘Mukhtasar’ ‘Allah Jaane’ and ‘Jabse Mere Dil Ko Uff’ which do a great job in representing the era that they’re played in.
The highpoint of the film, of course, are the performances by both Kapoor  and Chopra. Kapoor, especially is brilliant and renders his characters so well that his characters actually seem like they’re played by different actors. His Javed is the best, and his turn on Chaplin and, to a degree, his homage to Raj Kapoor in the 60s are noteworthy. Chopra too, who had some rather inconsequential roles in this year’s ‘Agneepath’ and last year’s ‘Don 2’, is as dependable as ever, looking gorgeous besides. In their cameos, Prachi Desai is good, whilst Neha Sharma is loud and hammy.
Overall, ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is that perfect weekend romcom, that should hopefully see Kapoor’s career come out of the doldrums and give him that hit he so definitely deserves.
Worth a watch and far better than some of the tripe audiences have been subject to lately
