NEWS: Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh to play siblings

Contrary to reports, it is Priyanka Chopra, a trusted and luscious lieutenant of Farhan Akhtar's production company (she is the resident heroine of their Don series), and not Anushka Sharma who has been roped in to play a pivotal role in Zoya Akhtar's next directorial venture.
The film is a story of a strong bonding between a brother and a sister. And Priyanka's brother in Zoya's film would be played by none other than Ranveer Singh.
A bit of an odd casting calculation, considering the two play paramours in Yash Raj Film's 'Gunday'. Says a source close to Ranveer, "They are both very accomplished young talents. They will look as convincing as siblings and lovers."
To rewind a bit, Zoya wanted to cast real-life cousins Ranbir and Kareena Kapoor as siblings in her film. The two rejected the offer as too gimmicky.

NEWS: Deepika spends time with family, thanks to Ranveer

Actress Deepika Padukone can't thank her "Ram Leela" co-star Ranveer Singh enough for giving her time off to visit her parents for the New Year.
Each year Deepika likes to be with her family at this time of the year. However, this year she was committed to shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela" with Ranveer.
Ranveer has lately been running from the sets of "Ram Leela" in Gujarat to the sets of "Gunday" in Kolkata. The actor injuried himself on the sets of "Gunday", which eventually affected Bhansali's "Ram Leela" also.
"Ranveer Singh was shooting simultaneously for 'Gunday' and 'Ram Leela'. In fact, the whiskered look that he sports for Sanjay Bhansali's film has been incorporated into his personality in 'Gunday' for the want of a choice. Remember back in 1969 how Rajesh Khanna's bearded look in 'Ittefaq' had to be incorporated into 'Do Raaste' as the superstar shot simultaneously for both," said a source.
Bhansali was all set to complete the shooting of some dramatic scenes between Ranveer and Deepika, but Ranveer's accident forced the director to postpone the shoot.
And Deepika has quietly taken off to Bangalore to be with her family.

NEWS: Bhansali wants me to look really hot in 'Ram Leela': Ranveer

Actor Ranveer Singh, who is working in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Ram Leela," says the filmmaker wanted him to look extremely hot in the film and that is why he went shirtless for a song.
"We were shooting a song and was supposed to wear a traditional Gujarati kedia (outfit) and in passing, we were doing some trials and I was putting on kedias and taking them off and he was like 'You know what, your body is looking amazing. Now let's just do this song shirtless'," the 27-year-old said here Thursday at the unveiling of the cover page of Men's Health magazine featuring him.
"So, he decided just like that and then we did a section of my introduction song absolutely shirtless," he added.
Talking about the brief given to him for the film, Ranveer said: "Mr. Bhansali was very clear that he wanted me to be extremely hot. He said 'Baby, when you come on the screen, I just want girls either to tear your clothes off or their own clothes off'."
Meanwhile, Ranveer would also be seen mouthing Gujarati abuses in the film and he learnt them all in Gujarat.
"I went to Gujarat, I did some research, picked up the Gujarati language. First thing I wanted to learn were the 'gaalies' (abusive words), which are very interesting. I came back in four or five days and I presented it to Mr. Bhansali in a reading and he was like 'This is fabulous, you must go for it'," Ranveer said.
"So, yes I am putting myself out there by infusing my own Gujarati flavour in the dialogues, and I hope it has the same impact it had in 'Band Baja Baaraat'," he added.
"Ram Leela" also stars Deepika Padukone.
For now, Ranveer is now looking forward to the release of "Lootera". Besides this, the shooting of his next, "Gunday".
