Who will direct the last sequence of Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan?

On Sunday evening tinsel town was shrouded in grief when the news of the demise of Bollywood’s favourite filmmaker broke out. The director passed away before seeing his last film hit the screens

Shahrukh Khan-Katrina Kaif-Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Yash Chopra’s last directorial film. And that’s how the maker wanted it to be too. Chopra had announced already that this would be his last film because he had decided to spend some quality time with his family. The director was about to leave for Switzerland to shoot the last and final song – the title number for Jab Tak Hai Jaan – when he fell ill and was diagnosed with dengue.
Now, in the wake of the sad demise of Bollywood’s favourite filmmaker, B-town is abuzz with the speculations about who will direct this last song of JTHJ? If sources close to the Chopra household are to be believed, the song will either be shot by his son Aditya Chopra or not shot at all.
While wethinks that Chopra’s dream of completing the song in his favourite place Switzerland should be fulfilled, we also feel that may be this is how it was meant to be. Take a look at the fresh and beautiful stills of Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan – his last and final romance with cinema.

My Hindi film career complete after working with Yash Chopra: Rahman

Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman has teamed up with Yash Chopra for the first time for the veteran filmmaker's much-talked about directorial venture "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". The music maestro says with the project his Hindi film career is complete.
"Yashji saw one of my concerts in London. We had invited him and I think may be he felt that I should be in his film and was kind enough to call me. So it was a great honour for me because I had not worked with him. My whole Hindi film career is now complete," the 46-year-old said here Thursday at the announcement of Royal Stag Mega Music event.
"We had a very good experience so far. He seemed very happy and I hope the people feel the same," he added.
Talking about the kind of music done for the film, Rahman said: "It's a combination. They wanted to do my kind of songs at the same time they wanted the old charm and soul of music that Indian audience would love and which I wanted to do for a long time."
"We did in 'Taal' and 'Swades' and it's such a great thing to come together to do this," he added.
The music of "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is yet to be released but the title poem penned by Gulzar is already creating waves.
The film hits theatres Nov 13.

Shahrukh Khan arrives in Srinagar

After over a weeklong shooting in the hill resorts of Pahalgam and Gulmarg, superstar Shahrukh Khan arrived in the summer capital Wednesday afternoon to continue capturing mesmerizing locales of Kashmir for his upcoming but still untitled venture which has Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the co-cast.
SRK and Anushka along with filmmaker Yash Raj Chopra flew by a helicopter to Srinagar after completing their shooting at Pahalgam and Gulmarg – a blend of serious and romantic moments.

SINGS AT GULMARG
In the north Kashmir ski resort of Gulmarg, King Khan and Anushka were seen shooting a song sequence at the Golf Club and elsewhere on some yet to be released AR Rehman number.
Donning an army trouser King Khan arrived at the shooting venue amid tight security cover of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) to dance on the expected big hit tune.

HAILS KHAKI, WEARING DARK GREENSDonning a dark green camouflage trouser typical of army man, the role he is presumably playing in the picture, SRK could be seen hailing the Khaki ranks for the arrangements.
SRK was courteous enough to call Raja Nighat Aman, a JKP official on security duty with him and compliment the JKP for the arrangements which made the shooting remain hassle-free. Some days back the DGP Ashok Gupta too met SRK during a party at Pahalgam.
At the Gulmarg shooting pack-up King Khan and Anushka didn’t mind taking snaps with children and some other fans who had managed reaching the venue.
Though Anushka’s personal bodyguards wanted to keep her fans away, she stopped them from doing so only to make children take pictures with her.

IN SRINAGAR
The big crew is believed to have decided to shoot in Dal lake on the persuasion of the Nazir Ahmed Bakshi, a leading businessman of Kashmir well connected in the Bollywood circles, who aspired that Shahrukh Khan is captured in the big lens in Srinagar as well.
The move is expected to further boost tourism sector. This is what the market pundits believe would attract more and more tourists to Kashmir the way yesteryear blockbusters like Kashmir Ki Kalli, Silsala, Beetab and Sattay Pay Satta did.

IN PAHALGAM
At the start of his first ever visit to Kashmir, Shahrukh spent over a week shooting in Pahalgam. Interestingly, Pine and Peaks Hotel, there, gave some good sleep to otherwise “amnesiac” superstar with SRK himself acknowledging on twitter that he enjoyed a good sleep for around 10 hours.
Shahrukh was putting up at the state of the art Shabistan Presidential Suite of the hotel belonging to the Ahad Hotels and Resorts.

Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor to star in ’Gunday’

Actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, who will be teaming up for Yash Raj Films next project titled "Gunday", will be seen playing the role of thieves in the film.

To be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar of "Mere Brother ki Dulhan" fame, the film is produced by Aditya Chopra and will be set in '70s Kolkata.

"Amidst the most turbulent times in the history of Kolkata, then Calcutta, from 1971 to 1988, Bikram and Bala rose from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to becoming the biggest and most powerful black marketing mafia men," a press release issued by Yash Raj Films said.

"A rare combination of vigour and wit, the duo were inseparable and the city of Calcutta swore by their friendship, as their notoriety became the stuff of legends. The People of this sprawling city started calling these two carefree rebels--'Gunday'," it added.

Both Ranveer and Arjun started their career in Bollywood with YRF movies- "Band Baaja Baarat" (2010) and "Ishaqzaade" (2012) respectively and both these films did quite well at the box office.

This is both Ranveer and Arjun's third film with the banner and the first time that these two powerful performers have come together.

The leading lady, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is yet to be cast and will be announced shortly.

The film will go on floor this December.

'Ek Tha Tiger' will sustain on content: Kabir Khan

Filmmaker Kabir Khan says Salman Khan's presence in "Ek Tha Tiger" will bring in the initial footfalls, but the film's content and direction will sustain it thereafter.
"I feel the film has stamina to run for a very long time. I hope the film goes way beyond the opening which is dependent on Salman. After that it is me and the film that I have made. I feel it has the strength to go a long way," Kabir said.
"Ek Tha Tiger", releasing Aug 15, is his third directorial venture after "Kabul Express" and "New York". The movie, in which Salman plays a spy, also features his former lady love Katrina Kaif, making it one of the much-awaited films of the year.
The first look of the film was also widely appreciated. The buzz has led several multiplexes to cash in on its popularity by reportedly hiking ticket prices 10-15 percent.
But there's little that the director can do.
"That is not something that I can dictate to the multiplexes. They have said it is a standard practice they follow. When they feel a film is much-anticipated and is running during a holiday period or a festive period, they tend to mark up the price," Kabir said.
"Apparently, some time back (ticket) prices had been brought down, so the 15 percent mark up is just bringing it back to what it was three to four months back.
"So I don't think it is pumped up as much as it was done for some films a couple of years back."

Shah Rukh Khan to play Army man again?

For filmmaker Yash Chopra’s yet-untitled directorial comeback, Shah Rukh Khan will once again play the character of an army offer. The actor was seen in uniform in the director’s last film, Veer Zaara (2004), where he played an air force officer. About his latest outing, an insider close to
the development of the project reveals, “There is a war sequence either between India and Pakistan or India and China that they are going to shoot in Ladakh with Shah Rukh.”

This would be the actor’s fourth stint as an army office. Shah Rukh started his career by playing an army officer in the hit TV series Fauji (1988). He later wore the uniform in Main Hoon Na (2004) and Veer-Zaara.

The makers are now also leaving on August 20 for a schedule in Ladakh and Kashmir. “It’s an eight-day schedule,” adds the source.

What is interesting though is that the makers also had to shoot a small sequence in Switzerland, but now will film it in Kashmir itself.

“A small sequence between Shah Rukh and Katrina will be shot in Kashmir,” says the insider.

The film also stars Anushka Sharma and will hit theatres during Diwali in November.

YRF remained unavailable for comments.
