NEWS: Hrithik excited to work in YRF's 'Paani'

Shekhar Kapur had many a times made it public about his most ambitious project that has now been titled “Paani”.

Hrithik Roshan has been selected to play the lead role in this film. He seems to be very excited about this new development as he was seen willingly discussing about this project with others who were present at Marrakech Film Festival that has been rolling at Morocco.

According to an insider, “Hrithik is excited to get the project. Ranbir was also in the buzz as being considered for the role. Guess his packed diary didn’t permit him free dates to say yes to Shekhar.”

This film seems to have a lot of potential as Yash Raj Films have joined forces with Shekhar Kapoor to fund this film. The film will be made with a budget of $30 million.

The director has tremendous talent and credibility as he proved it in yesteryear films like “Mr. India”, “Bandit Queen”, and “Masoom”. He has labeled this film as a mission. He tweeted recently saying, “'Paani' is a film, but much more. 'Paani' is a passion, but much more. 'Paani' is a mission.”

The film has quite an innovative and original plot. The storyline zooms into the future revolving around times when there will be wars over water. In the movie, it will be depicted that water is possessed by International Corporations, who then will use thirstiness as a weapon of authority over human population. The film will also project a budding love story that will disrupt all the rules and subsequently the war which will later result in the water flowing back to its general public.

This project had been in the limelight long back, (read: twelve years back), but sadly had no takers who would willingly fund it, with Yash Raj Films agreeing to produce the film, the project finally saw the light of day. An insider revealed “Now that Shekhar (Kapur) has finally found a producer in Aditya Chopra, looks like things are falling into place. Earlier, the director was often rebuked as to who would want to see a project like Paani!”

“Paani” is claimed to be going on floors next year during 2013. The film will be shot abroad and in India. A. R Rahman has been welcomed on board to compose the music of this film.

The film first had been announced with Vivek Oberoi who would play the lead, however with changing times and with Vivek’s popularity going downhill, Hrithik Roshan is a good choice.

NEWS: Shahid Kapoor : "Working Class Hero"

Apparently while shooting for his next film (phata poster nikla hero, which is in full flow as of now) he is spending very little time inside his vanity van while waiting for his shots. after the pack up.

Shahid doesnt immediately rush home but he has made a carrom gang and he likes playing before he heads home. 

he has made a carrom gang which is that of ordinary workers on the set and between his shots he relaxes with them. he has becomes friends with the lightmen and the crew members on the sets and is bonding over carrom with them. they also tell him about their lives and their problems. 

NEWS: Yash Raj Films and Shekhar Kapur to make "PAANI"

Shekhar Kapur and Yash Raj Films have joined hands to make Shekhar Kapur's ambitious project, PAANI. 

Talking about this association, Shekhar Kapur said, "I have been preparing for this film for a long time, but always wanted an Indian partner that has the same passion for the film as I do and in Adi I have finally found that. It’s a huge production that demands futuristic sets and large action pieces. With Yash Raj Films, I have found a perfect home for PAANI".

The film is based in a future world where wars over water have broken out.  Water is now owned by International Corporations who use thirst as a weapon of control. In one such future city, a young love story breaks all the rules and in the ensuing war, water flows back to its people. The film will have a strong Indian and Western star cast, headed by a young leading actor from India and a young leading actress from the west.

The film, Produced by Aditya Chopra and Directed by Shekhar Kapur, will be shot in India and overseas. Music is by A. R. Rahman.

NEWS: Deepika Padukone in demand for concert shows

After a hit film and numerous magazine covers, it looks like 2012 has been a great year for Deepika Padukone. The actor not only got accolades for her role in Cocktail, but also got some cool projects added to her kitty following the Homi Adajania release. And now, busy basking in the glory of the praise, Deepika is being hounded by numerous award shows to dance to the film’s hit song ‘Angrezi beat’.

A source says, “Deepika was praised not only for her acting skills, but also for her look in Cocktail. It also gave her the hit number ‘Angrezi beat’.” With award season round the corner, she seems to be in a lot of demand. Adds the source, “Many organizers are in talks with her as they want her to perform to the song. Some of them want to recreate the setting of the film on stage. She may also be carrying the same look from the film.”

However, Deepika’s schedule as of now is completely packed with Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD), Kochadaiyaan and Chennai Express all lined up for 2013 releases. Currently, she is wrapping up the shoot of YJHD and the tentatively titled Ram Leela. With shoots lined up back-to-back, news about her having finalized any deal with the organizers is yet to surface.

Celebrating 9 years of Kal Ho Naa Ho

It was a note worthy day for Dharma Productions last week as Kal Ho Naa Ho released on the same date
before 9 years. Released on 28th November 2003, the film won a million hearts across the
globe.

Kal Ho Naa Ho is a very close to Karan’s heart as this was the last film in which Karan
worked with his beloved father Yash Johar. The film also holds immense value in the
careers of all the lead actors as they are still remembered for their characters. All the three
stars; Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta shared a great chemistry and slipped
into their characters beautifully.

Reminiscing the days, Karan Johar tweeted, “9 years to kal ho naa ho....the last film my father
helmed at dharma productions...an ironic title of a very special to me...always....”

Kal Ho Naa Ho continues to be the favorite film of many even after completing 9 long years
to its release!
