Challa Song Promo from SRK's Jab Tak Hai Jaan creates 25,000 hits within hours on YOUTUBE

The first song of Yash Chopra's hyped Diwali release, JAB TAK HAI JAAN was launched on YouTube on Monday. The number featuring Shah Rukh Khan
created a frenzy online in no time, garnering over 25,000 hits in a few hours. The song, sees SRK strumming a guitar as he roams around the scenic hubs of London. It ends with the actor coming face to face with Katrina Kaif, leaving room for ample drama. 'Challa' has been sung by Rabbi Shergill and bears the sufi singer's trademark style. The music of the film is composed by A.R. Rahman and the lyrics are by Gulzar. The song received a mixed response from listeners both on YouTube and Facebook. While most reactions are positive and there were close to 6,000 likes within no time, many others have pointed at how the song seems like a peppy update on Rabbi's biggest hit till date, 'Bulla', which released in 2004. "SRK is back as Raj with a guitar, which is best suited on him," wrote a netizen Yaman. On the other hand, another netizen Wafique on YouTube was  less impressed, "Rabbi's voice is not matching with SRK who is lip (sic) syncing it. The song is similar to 'Bulla Ki Jaana'" Eighty-year-old veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra has declared that Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be his last film as a director adding that 'Challa' is his "favourite song in the film". "This is my favourite song and it is your song in the film. It is the soul of the film, you belong to everybody but nobody is yours. This song is in Punjabi language and it has been sung beautifully by Rabbi Shergill. Gulzar saheb has written the lovely lyrics. He has given words to my vision," he told Shah Rukh Khan in a televised conversation on his 80th birthday last week. "Working with A.R. Rahman and Gulzar is like working with magicians," the veteran film-maker said. Shah Rukh's return in a romantic avatar in this film has already created quite a buzz. The film, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, is said to be based on Yash Chopra's 1973 hit, Daag. Recently, Chopra confirmed that he would be shooting a signature song featuring Katrina in a chiffon saree with Shah Rukh in the Swiss Alps for the movie.
