NEWS: 'Dabangg 2' - double dose of action, comedy,

After breaking box-office records with "Dabangg", actor Salman Khan is ready to entertain audiences in his popular avatar of Chulbul Pandey in "Dabangg 2", which releases this Friday.
"Dabangg" was set in a village and had the rustic, rural flavour of Uttar Pradesh. The story this time around will shift to a posh metropolitan city.
The sequel will see Chulbul Pandey to be transferred to a city, where he will mingle with the elite, but will retain his simplistic flavour and values. "Dabangg" having been a blockbuster, the buzz around the sequel is high too.
The original movie was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, but he opted out of the sequel due to some issues, following which Salman's brother and producer Arbaaz Khan jumped in as the director.
Made under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions, "Dabangg 2" has been written by Dilip Shukla. This will be Arbaaz's first film as a director.
The film will see Salman and Sonakshi Sinha again reprising their roles of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo, while Vinod Khanna will feature as Prajapati Pandey, and Arbaaz as Makhanchan Pandey.
"Dabangg" proved to a turning point of actor Sonu Sood's career, who played the main antagonist Chhedi Singh. Initially he was a part of the sequel too, but had to opt out because of date issues.
Now, Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the antagonist. Made at a budget of approximately Rs.50 crore, the film is likely to release in over 3,000 screens.
The songs of "Dabangg 2" have also become popular, generating more interest in the film. While "Dabangg" had Malaika Arora Khan's "Munni badnam hui", "Dabangg 2" features actress Kareena Kapoor in item song "Fevicol Se", which is ruling the music charts already.
Since the release of "Dabangg" in 2010, the movie and Chulbul Pandey have become a brand. Whether the sequel will be able to create the same magic as "Dabangg" remains to be seen.
After the release of Shah Rukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and Aamir Khan's "Talaash", both of which earned big bucks at the box-office, it would be interesting to see how "Dabangg 2" does at the box-office and which Khan takes the top slot.

NEWS: Salman's Dabangg 2 has a date with Murder 3

Salman Khan's Dabangg 2 is all set for release and there is excitement amongst many a filmmaker to bring promos of their upcoming releases with it. The one who has taken an early lead is Mukesh Bhatt. Audience would now be able to enjoy the First Look of Murder 3along with the escapades of 'Chulbul Pandey'.

"Yes, Murder 3 is now almost complete and its promotional kick-start would take place with Dabangg 2. Even though Bhatts and Salman have never quite collaborated either on professional or personal front, there was no issue when the topic around featuringMurder 3 along with Dabangg 2 was touched upon. Salman is quite cool about it and Bhatts are an excited lot as well", informs a source.

One waits to see though that how much tailored and curtailed would the promo of this erotic thriller starring Randeep Hooda and Aditi Rao Hydari look like. Considering the fact that as a franchise, Murder is aimed for adults only audience and Salman's 'Chulbul' act is for everyone from 6 to 60, it is a given that the directorial debut of Vishesh Bhatt won't reveal as much as it would conceal.

"Of course yes", the source adds, "However the idea is to utilize the biggest platform possible and what better way to unveil your film than to showcase it along with Dabangg 2 which is expected to take one of the best starts of the year. While one would get a good feel of what the film is all about when it's First Look would play along with Dabangg 2, there is always the medium of internet available if the producers wish to share something far more volatile, explosive and explicit content."

When contacted, Mukesh Bhatt confirmed that Murder 3 would be showcased along with Dabangg 2. He also confirmed that the film will release as planned on February 15, the weekend of Valentine's Day.

Malaika behind the scene in 'Dabangg 2'

Model-turned-actress Malaika Arora Khan's item number "Munni" in "Dabangg" was a chartbuster, but for the action-comedy's sequel, she is focusing more on behind the scenes activities.
"I am not actively involved on the sets of 'Dabangg 2' in terms of creativity, but I am more behind the scenes. I am more office and literally back-stage, which is a new experience for me because I have always been on the camera," said Malaika.
